Heather and Eddie Poore Wedding: 10/30/10
Family and friends in a wild array of of costumes ranging from Beetlejuice to a pair of jail birds packed the small banquet room at the Compass Cove in Myrtle Beach, waiting for the festivities to begin. After dimming the house lights and projecting a purple wash of color on and around the dance floor, the Grand Entrance further set the tone for this Halloween-themed wedding reception, as the wedding party milked out their introductions with some interpretive dance moves to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Heather and Eddie’s wedding guests were mostly comprised of young, feel-good, southern-fried country folks in their 20s and 30s who liked their Country Music mixed with a healthy dose of Southern and Classic Rock, old and new Hip-Hop, and frequent medleys of pumped up, faster-tempo, contemporary “Pop-type” dance music. For the most part, the partiers were a loud and demonstrative crowd who had a lot of fun on the dance floor. I have a great time programming specific selections featured on “Must Play” lists when they are received with such enthusiasm. I feel honored to have been a part of such a really happy celebration.
