What role will wedding entertainment play in contributing to the success of your celebration?
wed∙ding en∙ter∙tain∙ment [wed-ing en-ter-teyn-muhnt] noun
- the action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment during the wedding ceremony and/or reception
- a wedding-day event, performance, or activity designed to entertain friends and family, relevant to the fact the bride and groom have joined their lives together in marriage
Oh! Emily, come look how pretty the cake is! And don’t you just love the way the tables are set up? The centerpieces are beautiful! Oh! And this is their sweetheart table. Isn’t it precious?! And don’t you just love the way they tied these pretty bows on the chair covers?!
Question: How long will all this ooohing and ahhhing last, and how much does it contribute to the wedding guests’ actual EXPERIENCE of your celebration? How long before the visual impact of the reception site’s decor wears off and your attendees get restless or bored?
Question: Do you want your wedding reception to be more than just an extended cocktail party and meal in a pretty setting with a dance floor and music, featuring the customary wedding protocol?
These are real considerations. That’s why you and your fiance should ask yourselves this question: “If you only could choose three words to describe your dream reception…WHAT 3 WORDS would you choose?” The next important and comprehensive step would be to direct your attention on how and in what way to make this happen. Do you want folks to be drawn in, participate and feel like they’re actually a part of your reception? Do you want your friends and families to feel included and stay until the end of the festivities because they’re having a great time? Do you want your guests to be entertained relevant to the real reason they’ve gathered together in your “oh, isn’t this beautiful” reception setting? If so, then the EXPERIENCE of your wedding celebration has to go farther than the fleeting appreciation of how chic is the bride’s dress and how colorful are the flower arrangements.
