A Good PARTY! Not a Good “DJ”

What do the bride and groom really want?

You might think you want a good DJ, but what you really want is a good party! In other words, it’s the outcome that you’re looking for. When all is said and done, isn’t it true that what you really want is for your friends and family to have a wonderful time?

So, what is a party? The definition is: a social gathering where there’s usually food, drink, and entertainment. Like a recurring theme throughout this blog, it’s been stated entertainment is “the action of being provided with amusement or enjoyment.” A fun wedding reception is actually a series of events that all happen in sequence, presented in a manner that will keep your guests entertained the whole time. “That, by nature, makes your reception an entertainment driven event.” In this light, your wedding reception is a party . . . a very special party! Looking at your celebration from this point of view, you’ll want to present your guests with the kind of fun that makes your special day an outstanding party, featuring the kind of entertainment that reflects your personal style.

Look Who’s Doing the YMCA (EVERYONE’S a part of the party!)

Like all brides, Stephanie wanted her wedding out on Bald Head Island in North Carolina to be special. She also wanted it to be fun. Being that the venue was in various rooms and on different floors, after the cake cutting, she determined (her idea) we should slot a Village People Routine in order to focus the attention of her guests back to the party area. To her surprise and delight, I staged the activity to include both her and her husband’s fathers, along with two of her uncles. I could think of no better way to transform the event into an entertaining spectacle, starring these well-recognized and highly-acknowledged individuals. (Notice the group-wide focus as the camera pans around the whole area at the end of this short clip.)

Ending on a High Note! (What’s happening at the end of the wedding reception?)

YOUR PERSONAL STYLE (Read “An Unexpected Twist” at the bottom about how a bride and groom featured their garter removal. It was a great party!)

Only just came across this site Larry but I am already very impressed! This will be getting a bookmark so I can come back to read later when I have more time. Hopefully as a Mobile DJ myself I can obtain some good pointers from here.
    Thanks
